How This Calculator Works
The idea that one cat year equals seven human years is a rough oversimplification. Cats age quickly in their first two years — reaching the equivalent of a young adult human by age two — and then their aging rate slows.
This calculator uses the veterinary-aligned three-stage model:
- Year 1 ≈ 15 human years
- Year 2 ≈ +9 human years (total ≈ 24)
